Andhra Pradesh Train Wreck Casuality Rises
The Repalle-Secunderabad Delta Fast Passenger train had derailed on last Saturday, October 29, 2005 during the early morning hours (around 4:15am) near the town of Veligonda, located about 50 miles (i.e. about 80 kilometers) East of Hyderabad.
The express train en route from Repalle had derailed and plunged into the river below. At least 7 out of 15 coaches were either fully or partially submerged.
Now the authorities have revised the casualty count to 123. The exact number of people injured during this unfortunate accident is still not available.
